Northern Line: night service and last train FAQs

What time is the last Northern Line train?

The last Northern Line train from a typical central London station such as Moorgate departs at around around midnight on weekdays. Outer stations have earlier last departures. See the full station-by-station list above.

Does the Northern Line run all night?

Yes — but only on Friday and Saturday nights, when Night Tube trains run every 8 minutes (Edgware/High Barnet – Morden via Charing Cross). From Sunday to Thursday there is no overnight service and the last trains leave around midnight. See the Night Tube guide for every line, first Northern Line trains for the start of the day, or the Northern Line timetable for every departure.

Is the Northern Line 24 hours?

Not every day. The Northern Line runs through the night on Fridays and Saturdays only, as part of the Night Tube. On other nights service stops around midnight and starts again around 5am.

Are weekend last train times different on the Northern Line?

Yes. Friday and Saturday night services typically run later than Mon–Thu, and Sunday last departures are usually earlier. Use the day-type toggle on the page to switch between Today, Mon–Thu, Fri–Sat and Sunday.
